How to Transfer Your Website to a Different User

When you create a website project, Siter will automatically assign you the owner role for that website.

Siter allows paid subscription accounts (Personal, Professional, Agency) to transfer the ownership of a website project to other user accounts. It could be one of your team members or anyone with a verified user account. This is very helpful if the owner of the website project wants to abandon the project and hand it over to another user account. Nonetheless, the original owner will still have access to the website project after the transfer until the new owner deletes the original owner from the team members list.

Keep in mind that only the user with the current owner role of the website project can transfer the ownership to another user account. When transferring the ownership to other accounts, you can also transfer the domain name and any associated files and resources on that website project.

To transfer the ownership of a website project to another user account, click on the Settings tab and then click on the Transfer Website menu link in the left menu panel.

On the Email input field, enter the email of the user to whom you want to transfer the ownership of the website project and tick the Yes, I want to give all the rights for this website to another person checkbox below it.

To finish off, click the Transfer button, and a notification will slide in confirming your transfer request.

The user account with whom you want to transfer the ownership of the website project will receive a confirmation email about the transfer request and will have the option to Accept or Decline it.

Once the new owner accepts the transfer request, Siter will transfer the ownership of the website project along with the files and resources to the new owner's account.
