How to Connect Google Analytics to Your Website
Siter allows you to connect your Google Analytics to your website projects.
Google Analytics tracks information about your website performance and collects your visitors' data who visit your website. This information is used to analyze traffic sources and trends, including user engagements, demographics, bounce rates, page views, keywords your visitors use to find your website, and much more. Google Analytics generates visual reports using charts and graphs to present this information.
To connect Google Analytics for your website project inside Siter, you need to have an existing Universal Analytics property generated in your Google Analytics account along with its measurement ID.
If you haven’t created a new Google Analytics property for your website or are unsure how to set up one, please follow this guide from Google support. Make sure you are signed in to your Google account before doing so.
Note: Starting July 1, 2023, regular Universal Analytics properties will no longer collect data. While you can still view your prior Universal Analytics reports at a particular time after July 1, 2023, the new data will only be available in Google Analytics 4 properties. It is recommended that you create both Universal Analytics property and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) if you are just getting started before the cited date. Click here to learn more.
Once you have the Google Analytics property set up, click on the Settings tab and then click on the Analytics menu link in the left menu panel.
Next, click the Connect Google Analytics button, and a modal window will pop up asking you to sign in to your Google account. You can either sign in or click on one of your Google accounts where you created your Google Universal Analytics property for your website.
Afterward, you must select the Google Universal Analytics property from the dropdown menu assigned to your website project and click on the Save Changes button.
A notification will slide in at the upper right corner of the screen confirming your changes.
At this point, your Google Universal Analytics property is connected to your Siter website project. It may take time before Google Analytics statistics can pull up and view some information about your Siter website in your Google Analytics account.
If you want to remove the current Google Universal Analytics property connected to your website, click on the right outside icon next to the Google Analytics dropdown, and it will automatically remove the connected Google Universal Analytics property from your website.
